native of Luebeck, Germany, and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired Boyd Professor Emeritus of sociology at LSU. Memorial services at Unitarian Church of Baton Rouge at 4 p.m.Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Steve J. Crump. Survived by wife, Franziska Toennies Heberle,Baton Rouge; a daughter, Antje E. Kolodziej, Champaign and Urbana, Ill.; two sons, Juergen W. Heberle, Buffalo, N.Y., and Klaus H. Heberle, Louisville, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; and agreat-grandchild. He received honorary degrees from University of Kiel and University of Hamburg in Germany. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Unitarian Church ofBaton Rouge, 8470 Goodwood Blvd., 70806.
