Served in U.S. Army during World War II
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. _ John J. Heberle, 78, of Tallahassee, and formerly of Erie, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998.
He was born in Erie, Jan. 22, 1920, son of the late Joseph J. and Lillian McGrorey Heberle. He moved from Erie to Tallahassee in 1994. He graduated from the former Academy High School in 1939 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for the Erie Brewing Co. and the AAA Motor Club. He was a member of St. John and St. Luke Catholic churches in Erie and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Tallahassee.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doris Williams Heberle; three sons, Michael and Thomas Heberle of Erie and James Heberle of Tallahassee; a daughter, Patricia Heberle Gray of Weslaco, Texas; a brother, Thomas D. Heberle of Erie; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Abbey Funeral Home, 4037 N. Monroe St., Tallahassee, Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 624 Miccosukee Road, Thursday at 11
a.m.
Burial will be at Tallahassee Memorial Gardens.
