Kathleen Eid-Heberle County: All Counties
Kathleen Eid-Heberle, RN has been an active volunteer nurse
with the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the American Red
Cross for three years and has volunteered in other chapters
around the country for 17 years. She has volunteered with our
chapter in various capacitices including co-chair of the
Disaster Health Services Committee, Health Services
Representative for the Disaster Services Committee, Disaster
Instructor, assisting in shelters during local disasters and
carious other Disaster Services Activities. Kathleen is also a
member of the Public Relations Speaker�s Bureau to make
presentations on behalf of the American Red Cross. Kathleen
endlessly promotes the American Red Cross and continuously
recruits new volunteers to become active in our
programs.
Kathleen Eid-Heberle grew up in Switzerland,
Japan and France. She attended the University of Scranton
where she obtained a Bachelors Degree in Nursing with a minor
in French. Kathleen practiced nursing all over the country and
is currently working in the Emergency Department at University
Hospital. Kathleen and her husband Mark have two children,
Colleen who is 5 years old and John who is 3 years
old.
Kathleen has been a volunteer nurse with the
American Red Cross for 18 years. She has served as chairperson
of several local and state committees and was a member of the
National Nursing Committee where she helped develop and
implement the State Nurse Liaison program. She continues to be
an advisor for the program, and has used her expertise in
various aspects of the Red Cross such as on disasters, health
education in the community, babysitting training for young
adults, blood services and speaking engagements. Kathleen also
volunteered with Special Olympics for four years teaching the
Olympians how to ski.
Her other hobbies include
traveling, skiing, swimming and playing tennis.

Red Cross is truly a humanitarian organization," says
Kathleen. "It reaches out to so many people; whether it is
responding to a disaster, offering numerous classes to the
public or being a resource in the community. It is truly an
organization that is there for the people and an organization
for which I am very proud to be a part.�
